Before you request a transformer quotation
UD Fomra Group
A transformer rating is the beginning of an enquiry, not the full specification. Send the approved technical schedule, application, quantity and delivery requirements together. That gives the supplier a clear basis for the offered design and scope.
Use the project's technical schedule
Include the specified capacity, voltage ratio, frequency, winding requirements, cooling arrangement and installation setting. Add the vector group and tap requirements where they are stated in the approved specification. Keep the drawing and document revision visible.
If the project has a particular application, such as solar inverter duty or an industrial process, say so explicitly. Do not assume that a general description will communicate the operating requirement.
- Approved technical specification and latest drawing revision
- Capacity, voltage ratio, quantity and intended application
- Required make and client or consultant approval requirements
- Fittings, protection and monitoring items in the supply scope
- Specified tests, inspection requirements and documentation
- Delivery location, required date and any site handling constraints
Make the fittings and testing scope explicit
Manufacturer product information distinguishes ratings, fittings and tests. Your quotation should do the same. Ask for the offered scope to be listed clearly, including any exclusions, rather than assuming every item shown in a general product brochure is part of the order.
Where inspection or particular test documentation is required, include that in the enquiry. It is easier to clarify those requirements before an order is confirmed than after the supply scope has been agreed.
Compare offers against one set of requirements
Keep the approved schedule alongside each offer. Check the offered technical details, accessories, documents, delivery basis and stated deviations. Record questions against the relevant item so they can be answered before the final selection.
The project engineer should confirm the rating and technical suitability. Our role in the supply conversation is to work from that requirement and help clarify the product and commercial scope.
Start the conversation with the available documents
UD Fomra Group's transformer range includes products from Uttam Bharat. Send the specification through our enquiry form and identify anything still awaiting approval. If the enquiry is preliminary, tell us that too.
A complete first message does not need polished formatting. A readable schedule, the correct revision and a clear delivery requirement are far more useful.
